How to immigrate to Canada?

Express Entry
Express Entry is an online system that is used to manage immigration applications from skilled workers.
There are 3 immigration programs managed through Express Entry:
Canadian Experience Class
- for skilled workers who have Canadian work experience
- work experience must have been gained in the 3 years before you apply
Federal Skilled Worker Program
- for skilled workers with foreign work experience
- must meet criteria for education and other factors
Federal Skilled Trades Program
- for skilled workers who are qualified in a skilled trade
- must have a valid job offer or a certificate of qualification
Note: Entry into the Express Entry pool does not guarantee a candidate will be issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence. Invited candidates still have to meet eligibility and admissibility requirements under Canada’s immigration law (Immigration and Refugee Protection Act).
Family Sponsorship
Your relatives can live, study and work in Canada and they become permanent residents of Canada. You can sponsor certain relatives to come to Canada if you’re at least 18 years old and a:
- Canadian citizen or
- Person registered in Canada as an Indian under the Canadian Indian Act or
- Permanent resident of Canada
Provincial Nominees
This program is for workers who:
- have the skills, education, and work experience to contribute to the economy of a specific province or territory
- want to live in that province, and
- want to become permanent residents of Canada
Atlantic Immigration Program
The Atlantic Immigration Program helps you hire qualified candidates for jobs you haven’t been able to fill locally. These candidates can be overseas or living in Canada as temporary residents.
Before you can make a job offer to a candidate, you must first become designated by the provincial government of the Atlantic province where the candidate will be working.
Once you’ve offered a job and the candidate has accepted, there are several steps that you and the candidate need to complete. If you and the candidate meet all the requirements, the candidate may then apply for permanent resident status in Canada.

Who are Caregivers?
A person who gives care to people who need help taking care of themselves. Examples include children, the elderly, or patients who have chronic illnesses or are disabled. Caregivers may be health professionals, family members, friends, social workers, or members of the clergy.
As a caregiver, you have options to come to Canada to become a permanent resident or work temporarily.

Business groups in Canada
The Start-up Visa Program connects Canadian business organisations with immigrant entrepreneurs who have the skills and potential to build innovative businesses in Canada.
With the support of a designated organisation, immigrant entrepreneurs can apply for permanent residence in Canada and launch their start-up here. Designated organisations include venture capital funds, angel investor groups and business incubators that have been approved to support these start-ups.
Self Employed
A person is self-employed if they run their business for themselves and take responsibility for its success or failure
. The Self-employed Persons Program allows people to immigrate to Canada permanently as a self-employed person.
If you’re interested in this program, you must:
- have relevant experience in cultural activities or athletics and
- be willing and able to make a significant contribution to the cultural or athletic life of Canada
Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot : About the Pilot
The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot is a community-driven program. It’s designed to spread the benefits of economic immigration to smaller communities by creating a path to permanent residence for skilled foreign workers who want to work and live in one of the participating communities.
TR to PR Pathway
The temporary resident to permanent resident pathway is a limited-time pathway to permanent residence. It is for certain temporary residents who are currently working in Canada and their families.

you have work experience in Canada in an essential occupation or the health or health services field
OR
you recently graduated from a Canadian post-secondary institution
